Annual BDO reporting — waste and packaging

An annual BDO report is submitted by entities whose activities in the reporting year were subject to reporting obligations. We verify records, identify the appropriate report and prepare it in BDO. Having a registration number does not automatically mean you must submit every type of report.

Failure to submit a required report: the law provides for a fine for failing to file a required report. The PLN 5,000–1,000,000 range does not apply here. Each case must be assessed according to the type of infringement.

    Questions about annual BDO reporting

When is the annual BDO reporting deadline?
Annual waste and product and packaging reports are generally due by 15 March for the previous year. Before submission, we check the report type and current legal requirements.
Does every business with a BDO number need to submit a report?
No. A BDO number alone does not mean every report type is required. Your registration scope and the activities actually carried out during the year determine the obligation.
Do I need to submit a nil report?
According to official BDO guidance, an entity that did not carry out activities subject to reporting during the year does not submit a nil report. However, you must confirm that no reportable events took place.
Can a report be submitted after the deadline?
The system allows overdue reports to be submitted. We first organise the data and submit the correct document. Any consequences depend on the legal basis and the circumstances of the case.
How much does preparing an annual BDO report cost?
Prices start at PLN 1,000 excluding VAT and depend on the report type, completeness of records and the amount of data requiring verification or correction.
What documents are needed for a waste report?
Typically, we need KPO and KEO data, a summary of waste codes and weights, information about operating locations and documents explaining any discrepancies. We confirm the exact list after reviewing your registration scope.
Can a submitted BDO report be corrected?
Yes, if an error is found after submission or the source data changes. Before making a correction, the discrepancy must be explained and evidence of the correct figures retained.
